There is a wide range of different glass products on the market today and, at Double R Glass & Roofing Systems Ltd, we are able to produce units using all the major types and styles.

Clear: This traditional glass type still features in a large number of units, particularly in conservatories which are not yet covered by the same regulations as main house windows.

Low E: There are two types of Low E Glass: Hard Coat and Soft Coat. In recent years Soft Coat development of glass has resulted in a significantly higher specification of glass, both in respect of WERs and U Values. We supply Guardian Climaguard A as standard and this soft coat has a number of benefits including a high light transmission of 78% and a U value of 1.2 W/m2K when combined with argon gas.

Specialist Glass: As conservatories become more and more popular, the desire for solar control and self cleaning glass has increased. There are now a number of products on the market but we have chosen to concentrate on Pilkington Activ Blue, a solar control product with a self cleaning surface - see the Specialist Roof Types section.

We can also manufacture units incorporating laminated glass, georgian wired safety glass and patterns - see the section on patterns.

Argon: Argon is a colourless, odourless, non-flammable, non-reactive, gas used to reduce heat loss in sealed units by slowing down convection in the air space. Gas filled units will increase the windows ability to insulate by generating a warmer surface on the inside pane, eliminating condensation and increasing interior comfort.

Specialist effects

Leaded: Whether you are looking for diamond lead, square lead, Queen Anne lead or special designs, we can supply the full range. We can also offer silver, blackened, antique, gold, brass or white finishes.

Georgian: We produce the majority of georgian units in-house but, as a result of a supply agreement with a specialist supplier, we are able to supply the full range of georgian designs in a wide range of finishes.

Bevels and Stained Film: We have teamed up with a major supplier of bevels and stained film and are able to offer a full range of designs. From standard designs - featured in our own brochure (contact us for a free copy) - to one-off designs, Double R Glass & Roofing Systems Ltd can meet your needs.
