Double R has placed an order with LGT for a Toughening Furnace

Double R Glass & Roofing Systems Ltd has placed an order with LGT for a Toughening Furnace providing further proof of the Company’s positive plans for the future. The Furnace, an LGT/I/1530, will be delivered and installed during January and February 2009 into Double R’s new facility on the Ogee Business Park.

Speaking about the purchase, Ian Sims, Managing Director of Double R Glass & Roofing Systems Ltd, said “Over the last six years Double R has enjoyed tremendous growth in our glass sealed unit business and it has always been our intention to produce our own toughened glass at some point. Although market conditions remain difficult, we feel that the time is right for the next step in our development programme.

“We have had contact with LGT for many years and believe that Peter and ‘Oz’ are the best people to support us as we move forward. I have been impressed by their attention to detail and the desire they both have to make this a successful addition to Double R’s manufacturing capability.

“This purchase represents a major step for Double R which will ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our customers”
